A new series · Watch the teaser

DayDreamer09

They never stopped becoming who they dreamed of.

The office · 11:48 PM

The premise

Four tired office workers.
One suspicious notification.
Every childhood dream at once.

It's late, the spreadsheet won't finish itself, and nobody is inspired. Then Ethan notices a notification from something called DayDreamer09 and, against everyone's better judgement, clicks it.

The office falls apart. The team drops into a strange white space, and from there they are flung into the adventures their eight-year-old selves could only dream of. Each of them is absorbed by their world, right down to the outfit, while the others watch a side of them nobody at work would ever expect.

Our imagination was never left behind. It just grew into something different.

Made for families to enjoy together: a fast-paced adventure for kids, and for grown-ups a reminder of the dreams that shaped them. No trauma, no tragedy. Just the joy of getting the thing you wanted when you were eight.

The pilot is coming

Episode 01 gets made with your support.

What's live is a teaser of what's to come. The pilot is next, and it's the community that gets it made. Watch the teaser on YouTube, give it a like, and subscribe to the channel.

The four

Four office workers.
Four eight-year-olds.

Their clothes, colours and childhood dreams say who they are without a word of explanation. Tap a card to clock out.

Daniel

Could have gone home hours ago. Stayed to keep the team going.

The dream: the giant cardboard city he built with his mom when he was eight, a suit to match, and the cardboard beast that once lived there.

"We built this when I was a kid. My mom and I."

Nina

Controlled, practical, and the last person you'd expect to have a need for speed.

The dream: a hot pink garbage truck, a stadium racetrack, and a loop that defies gravity.

I FIGHT DIRT.

Maya

Emerald green follows her everywhere, from the office blazer to the jungle.

The dream: the jungle, a tiger, and the lessons of her grandfather's animal rescue centre.

"Let the animal come to you."

Ethan

The risk-taker. High risk, high reward. He's the one who clicked.

The dream: a navy and copper jet, mountain peaks, and a sea of clouds.

"What if we dip under the clouds?"

The worlds

From pure fantasy
back towards reality.

Each dream is a little more possible than the last. A cardboard city is impossible. A jet flight isn't, under the right circumstances.

World 01 · Daniel

The Cardboard City

Every kid has built something out of a box. Daniel's is the size of a skyline, and something in it is still alive. Golden browns and warm light: the most fantastical world, grounded by a memory of building it with his mother.

World 02 · Nina

The Racetrack

Racetracks exist. Garbage trucks exist. A garbage truck taking a loop at full speed does not. Hot pink against dark concrete: bold, slightly ridiculous, and nothing like the Nina you know from the office.

World 03 · Maya

The Jungle

The trees are real. The tiger is real. A wild tiger nuzzling a human is not. Emerald green connects the woman in the blazer to the girl who grew up around rescued animals.

World 04 · Ethan

Above the Clouds

Flying a jet and pulling aerial stunts could actually happen. Blue and copper, polished and confident, the last dream before everyone lands back at their desks.

The series

The teaser was just
the first notification.

Everyone had a dream at eight. DayDreamer09 knows where you left yours. The teaser followed four colleagues into their childhood worlds. The pilot, Episode 01, is next, if the community wants it.

The game

Cardboard Land Alpha

Somewhere, the cardboard city is still standing. Now you can walk into it: the first alpha is playable in your browser.

Dan drops into the town in his office clothes. Build his cardboard suit piece by piece from Mom's drawings, calm the wild beast in Monster Canyon, then ride it through the town to find his friends.

  • Punch and stomp boxes for cardboard, tape and gold, then build the suit and cape in the Workshop
  • Win over the beast by standing still, then ride it and charge through anything
  • Charge Maya's door, free Nina from the castle keep, climb the Moon Tower to Ethan
  • Glide with the cape, ride the mine cart and the paper-cup gondola, and take the Long Line down to the jet

This is an early alpha: expect rough edges, missing pieces and the odd bug while the game is built out. Best on a laptop or desktop in Chrome or Edge, with keyboard and mouse or a gamepad.
